Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a practice that emphasises silence and reflection. Postures are held passively for several minutes at a time in order to put positive stress on the joints and connective tissue. It improves joint mobility, reduces stress, improves flexibility and calms the mind. It targets the connective tissues (bones, joints and ligaments) rather than the muscles (which are targeted in more common ‘yang’ classes). It is slow paced and meditative. As we get older, joint mobility decreases, leading to stiffness and discomfort. Yin yoga works deep into the joints and helps maintain flexibility.

-
Reduces anxiety and stress
-
Increases circulation
-
Releases fascia and improves joint mobility
-
Balances the internal organs
-
Improves the flow of prana (life energy)
